So its Valentines Day and I am wearing red. Today is a special day to stay warm and with your loved ones, don’t hesitate in calling that old friend you miss so much, call that one love that got away, call you mom, call you dad, call and be there for everyone who matters in your life. Today is a day to be surrounded by love stay warm and be happy.

For todays look I am wearing head to toe Mr. Nieves accessorizing and keeping warm with gloves, beanie and sunnies from Wood Wood.

1984

Call me nostalgic but I miss waking up on a Monday morning and having to go to school. So todays outfit inspiration is based on my vintage varsity jacket from 1984. Staying in theme with the look I decided to accessorize with a Herschel black backpack and a cool pair of Sony headphones for those long subway rides. Under the jacket a gray H&M hoodie to keep me warm, my J. Crew plaid shirt wrapped around my waist and washed up torn jeans from TOPMAN did the trick. New York’s weather mood swings, a little snow here, a little storm there got me worried on what type of shoe to wear but you can never go wrong with Prada. My three tone oxford booties where the perfect element to complete my outfit giving me style, balance, and comfort when stumbling into puddles.

Winter Whites

There was a time when people stuck to the rule that white clothing was only “allowed” between Memorial Day and Labor Day. This was summertime, after all, a time for picnics, barbecues and a general carefree way of life. Some called it a Don’t once or even twice but for this winter wearing white will be a must. After spotting the off-whites trend quite a bit all over the runway it seemed pretty obvious that this was going to be the upcoming look. Since it’s for winter we definitely need a coat and to keep the winter wonderland tones a camel coat is the perfect element to go with the all-white outfit. For my look I decided to wear my Just Cavalli white denim with a gray two tone French Connection thermal under a simple white Tee from DKNY and doing the all-white look by adding my high rise kicks from Sandro. To complete the look a camel robe like coat from The Reformation and in the accessory department having my hair pulled back in a man bun added a posh aesthetic mixing elegance with a bohemian touch. The brown leather aviators from Chloé where a perfect match to white and brown (camel) color story as for my Louis Vuitton duffle bag had the exact colors needed to complete the look. The brown and camel LV iconic pattern went perfectly with the vibe and color scheme of the whole outfit. So if you are of the people who wonder why is it bad to wear white after Labor Day. The truth is that few people know the exact logic behind this antiquated fashion “law.” There seems to be no explanation, but what can be agreed upon is that it’s a rule that can now be put to bed.

Summer Blues

Getting a little nostalgic because summer is about to end and with no doubt Manhattan’s weather is about to change. Taking advantage that the sun was shining bright I went roaming around the wonderful streets of SoHo, window shopping actually has become one of my favorite hobbies. While browsing I realize how much my look of the day and the cobblestone streets reminded me of Italy. Today I am wearing my H&M blue striped linen t-shirt and paired it with my navy blue Ted Baker shorts. To accessorize my summer straw hat from Paul Smith, mirrored blue sunnies from Nordstrom, black and blue clutch from C Wonder and last but not least for my feet my Camper Together X Bernhard Willhelm multicolored sandal giving the look the right amount of pop!

Grey Leather

Having a leather jacket is an essential piece to any wardrobe but playing around with different colors of leather can be a great form to upgrade your look. Paring my Armani grey leather jacket with a Calvin Klein turtleneck like black sweater with some Zara denim and Cavali black slip-ons gives you an everyday “formal.

Matchy Match MISSONI

Now that New York is getting warmer is time to drop the big coats and puffy jacket, so I pulled my perfect spring neon green jacket from Missoni to take a walk Brooklyn. Not realizing how sporty it looked I paired it up with a pair of 3.1 Phillip Lim joggers from SS 14-15 collection they are a must for spring, but the funny part starts when I find that my new “running” Nike shoes go perfectly with the jacket I dared to paired the whole outfit together turning into a very modern sporty work out look… even if I was just roaming around Brooklyn on a sunny afternoon with my mirror Nordstrom aviators.
